P-LTE-450 PIM whitelisted for the German 450 MHz network

The Intelliport P-LTE-450 Pluggable Interface Module has been added to the German 450connect whitelist of customer end devices for routers and smart-grid equipment. With this approval, operators in Germany can run Cisco rugged routers on the nationwide German 450 MHz network of 450connect – the network built for the energy and water sector and other critical infrastructure.

Before a device is whitelisted, 450connect validates the interoperability and quality of its LTE450 interface against the network's requirements. Only devices that pass this validation are released for operation on the network.

LTE450 inside the Cisco rugged router family

Cisco Catalyst IR1101 and IR1800 rugged routers are used where the network meets the field: substations and secondary substations, distribution automation, renewable generation sites, water and wastewater plants and transport infrastructure. They combine industrial hardware with Cisco IOS XE, built-in security and centralised management.

The P-LTE-450 slots into the router's PIM bay like any other Cisco module. LTE450 becomes one more interface in an environment operators already know – configured, monitored and updated with the familiar Cisco tools. The module was developed together with Cisco as part of our long-standing cooperation on 450 MHz connectivity.

Availability and support

The P-LTE-450 (ordering code P-LTE-450-DE) is available through Cisco partners. Support is provided via Cisco TAC, and Intelliport warranty extension and support packages are available for 3, 5 or 7 years.
